All three devices—the OnePlus Nord 3, OnePlus 11R, and iQoo Neo 7 Pro—are focused on offering flagship-caliber performance and are priced under Rs. 40,000 in India. There has been a recent spike in the release of phones in the luxury mid-range market. As if these alternatives weren’t enough, the Oppo Reno 10 Pro 5G is a new addition to the roster. The Reno 10 Pro 5G costs Rs. 39,999 and is positioned between the entry-level Reno 10 5G and the premium Reno 10 Pro+ 5G.

While most competitors strive to provide performance worth the money, the Oppo Reno 10 Pro 5G has a few tricks to make itself stand out. Should you purchase it? To assist you in making a decision, see our complete review here.

Oppo Reno 10 Pro 5G price in India

The Oppo Reno 10 Pro 5G has a single storage option in India. For Rs. 39,999, it has 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM.

Oppo Reno 10 Pro 5G design and display

Silvery Grey and Glossy Purple are the two color options available for the Oppo Reno 10 Pro at launch. We have the latter, which stands out from most other new phones released in black and green hues. The back panel and frame of the phone are curved. With its glass back, the Oppo Reno 10 Pro has a high-quality feel about it. The very lightweight and slender construction is another factor that helps with this. Weighing 185g, the Reno 10 Pro is around 7.89mm thick. The phone has occasionally fallen out of my hands because of the slick back.

The Oppo Reno 10 Pro is beautiful. The design and color scheme put together gives the impression that it is a much more costly smartphone. Additionally, the glossy metallic coating effectively conceals smudges and fingerprints. The chassis is composed of plastic, whereas the rear panel is made of glass. The phone’s power and volume keys are located on the right side, making them convenient to reach if you have large hands.

Screen

The Oppo Reno 10 Pro features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display on the front with a 20.1:9 aspect ratio and full-HD+ resolution (2412 x 1080 pixels). Similar to the Vivo V27 Pro (Review), OnePlus 11R (Review), and a few more reasonably priced models like the Motorola Edge 40 (Review), the Reno 10 Pro 5G’s display is curved at the corners.

Launch of the Oppo K11 5G with the Snapdragon 782G SoC and 100W Fast Charging: Cost and Details

It is quite basic to have a decent dual-speaker arrangement for a smartphone, around Rs. 40,000, and Oppo made a terrible decision by only including a single speaker in the Reno 10 Pro 5G. Furthermore, there isn’t a 3.5mm headphone jack. The speaker is loud, which is a plus, but the audio quality is not as immersive.

When watching HDR material, the 120Hz display can produce a peak brightness of up to 950 nits. YouTube and Netflix do not currently support HDR playback. With its vivid 10-bit display, a billion colors are supported. AGC Dragontrail Star 2 glass, which Oppo has chosen, is claimed to have 20% better drop protection than Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

When the refresh rate was set to Auto Switch, I did not notice any significant stutters when navigating the user interface. However, there were a few software-related problems, which we will address in the following section.

Oppo Reno 10 Pro 5G specifications and software

The Snapdragon 778G SoC and Adreno 642L GPU are included in the Oppo Reno 10 Pro 5G. The phone has an 80W SuperVOOC rapid charger and a 4,600mAh battery. Connectivity options, including dual-SIM, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6, IR emitter, etc. are available. In India, the Oppo Reno 10 Pro 5G has access to 14 5G bands.

The Oppo Reno 10 Pro 5G is powered by the most recent version of ColorOS 13.1, which is based on Android 13. One of the most favored choices for personalization and customization is Oppo’s ColorOS, which has developed over time. Users may still alter backgrounds, front and size, icon shapes and sizes, and other features with the Reno 10 Pro.

Additionally supported is the Material You theme for Android 13, which harmonizes the colors of the wallpaper with those of the system and user interface. Additionally, through the Settings app, Oppo offers users a variety of featured color options for the UI and system icons.

Company Added

Despite many features, ColorOS 13.1 is riddled with advertisements and app suggestions across the user interface, whether the home screen, app drawer, or set-up screen. The default browser app even has app recommendations. Preinstalled are several third-party apps and an assortment of unpopular games. Oppo’s native App Store, App Market, likewise inundates you with several messages urging you to install particular apps.

Oppo has listened to user feedback, as seen by their announcement that undesirable apps that request permission to install when the phone is first set up would be eliminated in the following software upgrade to improve user experience. Oppo’s native app suggestion folders, Hot Games and Hot Apps, will remain accessible. Users can conceal these folders by navigating to App Market > General > Tap Settings in the upper right corner and turning off the toggle for Hot Games and Hot Apps. Tap ‘More Settings’, long-press on a notice, then uncheck the ‘Allow Notifications’ toggle to further prevent spam recommendations.

We did see that the screen orientation changed automatically even when the Auto-rotate option was disabled. Therefore, it appears that optimization is still needed.

Oppo Reno 10 Pro 5G performance and battery life

The mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC, which powers the Oppo Reno 10 Pro, has been seen in a few handsets in India that retail for about Rs. 30,000. The Reno 10 Pro 5G is not the most potent phone in its class. Still, the chipset can handle standard duties like messaging, social media scrolling, content intake, app loading, etc.

Gaming for fun is also feasible. But in terms of value and gaming performance, devices like the OnePlus Nord 3 (Review), OnePlus 11R (Review), and iQoo Neo 7 Pro (Review) are significantly superior at this price range. Dual ‘Ultra’ framerate settings and ‘HDR’ graphics are supported in Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). Playing on the maximum settings caused some stuttering. However, switching to “Balanced” or “HD” graphics settings made the gameplay a little bit smoother. Conversely, Asphalt 9: Legends operated with relative ease.

The RAM is managed fairly well, and the applications kept loading from where we left them. In addition, the 256GB of internal memory of the Reno 10 Pro can be used to support up to 8GB of virtual RAM.

Oppo Reno 10 Pro 5G cameras

The Oppo Reno 10 Pro 5G rear is equipped with a triple camera configuration. Its primary camera, a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890, supports optical image stabilization (OIS). The premium OnePlus 11 (Review) and the Oppo Reno 10 Pro+ 5G have identical sensors. A 32-megapixel telephoto camera with a 2X optical zoom and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera are also included in the Reno 10 Pro’s specs list. There includes a 32-megapixel front camera sensor for taking selfies.

When you start with the primary camera, you obtain high-quality photos with accurate color reproduction. Most of the time, the dynamic range performance is good. There were moments when the shadow exposure was not at its best. In several cases, the night mode images were well-exposed and had little to no noise. Maintaining details in the shadows does not mean blowing out the highlights. The low-light performance of the primary camera on the Reno 10 Pro is among the finest in the category.

The ultra-wide camera’s color temperature is warmer than the primary camera’s. Although there is a noticeable lack of clarity, particularly in the periphery, the camera captures color and dynamic range.

The Oppo Reno 10 Pro has two video recording modes: 1080p 30 frames per second for the front camera and 4K 30 frames per second for the rear camera. The footage from the rear camera has good exposure, details, and steadiness. The dynamic range performance of the front camera’s video is compromised.

Verdict

One of the best-designed smartphones, around Rs 40,000, is the Oppo Reno 10 Pro. It feels well in the hand and is well-built and has a lovely appearance. The phone’s long battery life and sharp display are major selling factors. The performance unit is mediocre, given the price, because competitors provide far greater value. An excellent telescopic lens and a diverse camera system give the Reno 10 Pro 5G a minor advantage over its competitors.

The software experience, which still needs to live up to the premium price, is the one area where it falters. In addition, the phone has only one speaker and is not IP-rated.
